THE KING IS DEAD

I asked artist Bob Wilson to perform a text by Gogol and a play by Beckett « Rockaby » while he was staging « Pere Ubu » in Spain 2022.

He accepted because when he was a child he told his teacher in Waco Texas that he wanted to be the King of Spain. (No reasoning).

« The King is Dead » is about the death and revival of an irrational/anachronic figure. His thirst for power, the presence of the figure of the Mother and a chair.
